On the occasion of Republic
Day, a star gazing program by the Association of Friends of Astronomy was held
at Gvm’s Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education Ponda. The star gazing program
was organized by Dr. Anna Neena George.
The program began with a power point
presentation which was held in the main lecture hall of the college. Mr.Satish
Nayak delivered the presentation with his command and expertise of the matter.
It was enlightening and knowledgeable.
He enlightened us with the
various theories of Astronomy by systematically presenting to us information of

Mr. Nayak said 'History is
being systematically deleted because of our crime of not reading'. All in all
the session was very informative and wonderful.
This was followed by the sky
gazing session i.e. the actual observation of sky which was conducted by Mr.
Videsh khandeparkar. He focussed the telescope on the NEBULA and gave every
individual a chance to observe the nebula.
Simultaneously, Mr. Satish
Nayak introduced us to the stars in the sky and provided us with various other

It was an amazing experience
to observe and understand. The Students as well as the teachers participated in
the session by asking various questions.
After the program all
students we're served delicious food which was followed by the vote of thanks.
When asked about his enthusiasm towards astronomy, Mr. Nayak replied that his
unconditional love towards astronomy keeps him seeking greater understanding of
the universe.
